It seems with the vSphere 6.7 release (maybe sooner, not sure), the ability to add a Floppy drive has been removed when using the H5 client.
There are some discussions internally about the reasoning but there is a quick fix. The PVSCSI driver is included in the VMware Tools so if you do require the PVSCSI adapter for performance reason, make sure you add a second CD drive temporarily to the VM and mount the VMware Tools iso.
I have no success in swapping isos during the install (it doesn’t rescan the iso) – hence the reason for a second one.
Browse to the drivers folder and select the appropriate folder.
You then able to install Windows onto the pvscsi boot drive as you normally would
